  • CBL announces promotions

    Chattanooga, Tenn. -- CBL announced the promotions of Rusty Carlton to VP of portfolio accounting; Eric Griffith to VP of mall leasing; Michael Herman to VP of legal services; and Robert Snetman to VP of asset management and third party services.

  • Saks sets opening dates for Canada

    Saks Fifth Avenue revealed additional details about its entry into the Canadian market.

    The company will open its first-ever store up north, at CF Toronto Eaton Centre, on February 18, 2016, followed by a second location, at CF Sherway Gardens, on February 25. Both centers are in Toronto.

  • Phillips Edison hires VP, assistant general counsel

    Cincinnati -- Phillips Edison & Company it has appointed Theresa (“Terry”) Shea as VP, assistant general counsel. In her new role, Shea will work closely with the general counsel to provide legal advice to the Company concerning all aspects of its business.

  • Maryland’s newest resort experience MGM National Harbor names exclusive leasing agent

    National Harbor, Md. -- JLL announced that it has been retained by MGM Resorts International to lease the luxury retail promenade in its newest development, MGM National Harbor located in Prince George’s County, Maryland. MGM National Harbor will encompass 308 hotel rooms, a 125,000-sq.-ft. casino, 12 world-class food and beverage venues, a 27,000-sq.-ft. spa, a 3,000-seat theater and 18,000 sq. ft. of high-end luxury retail space expected to open in fourth quarter 2016.

    Barneys New York has opened flagship in downtown Manhattan on the same block that the upscale retailer was founded on in 1923 and maintained a presence through the late 1990's.

  • Whole Foods’ new 365 format to anchor Butler Town Center

    Whole Foods Market’s 365 store concept is the first anchor to be announced for Butler Town Center, in Gainesville, Florida. It is also the first 365 location to be announced for the state of Florida.

  • Off-pricer to make Canadian debut

    Nordstrom continues to expand north of the border.

    The retailer announced that its Nordstrom Rack off-price division will open its first Canadian location, in Toronto, in 2018.

    The 38,600-sq.-ft. store will be located at One Bloor in Yorkville, on the southeast corner of Yonge Street and Bloor Street, a well-known shopping district in Toronto. It will be approximately one mile north of the Nordstrom full-line store, which is scheduled to open in September 2016 at CF Eaton Centre.

  • Report: Whole Foods Market considering tattoo parlors in new chain

    Shoppers at Whole Foods Market’s new 365 chain might be able to get a tattoo while they stock up on organic kale smoothies and non-GMO dog food.

    In an interview on Bloomberg TV, Whole Foods CEO Walter Robb says the 365 format is going to try some tactics outside of the traditional supermarket playbook, including setting up tattoo parlors in the stores.
