  • ECOtality selects JLL for site selection of Blink EV stations

    Chicago -- As part of its $114.8 million federal stimulus grant to construct the country’s electric vehicle (EV) charging station infrastructure, ECOtality said Thursday it has chosen Jones Lang LaSalle’s Corporate Retail Solutions team to assist in location selection, conduct due diligence and negotiate contracts with potential host locations throughout EV Project regions to install ECOtality’s Blink EV Chargers.

  • Edens & Avant names former P&G exec as marketing VP

    Columbia, S.C. -- Edens & Avant announced Wednesday the hiring of Kerry Cavanaugh as its new VP marketing.

    With over a decade in global brand and product innovation management at Procter & Gamble, Cavanaugh will lead Edens & Avant in a new strategic marketing direction focused on brand building and consumer innovation in retail.

    At Edens & Avant, Cavanaugh will oversee the corporate and center specific marketing of 124 retail properties located in urban markets up and down the east coast.

  • Promenade Shops at Centerra hosts dog expo

    At Promenade Shops at Centerra, in Loveland, Colo., dog owners will attend the sixth annual Paws on the Promenade outdoor dog expo on May 21. Held in the Main Plaza of the shopping center, the event features dog-related vendors, contests, giveaways, entertainment and refreshments.

    Colorado has long been known as a dog-friendly state, and the Promenade has leveraged the focus on dogs to forge a relationship with its customers and their pets.

  • Report: Lower Manhattan shopping corridor shows 23% rise in average asking rents

    New York City -- A report released Thursday by the Real Estate Board of New York showed that some of New York City’s primary shopping corridors are seeing increases in asking rents for available retail space, while others are seeing rents plateau.

  • Nordstrom Rack to open at Westfield Plaza Bonita

    Seattle --Nordstrom announced it will open a 42,222-sq.-ft. Nordstrom Rack at Westfield Plaza Bonita shopping center in National City, Calif. The new store will open on Oct. 27.

    The new Nordstrom Rack will be the company's third Rack store in the greater San Diego area, joining Westfield Mission Valley in San Diego and Grand Plaza in San Marcos.
     

  • KFC opens eco-friendly restaurant in Indianapolis

    Indianapolis -- KFC is looking to earn LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for its newest restaurant in Indianapolis. The building is designed to use 25% less energy and water than a conventional KFC restaurant. It features energy-efficient cooking equipment, LED lighting, locally sourced building materials, recycling for cooking oil and plastics, fixtures designed for lower water use, and parking preference for hybrid vehicles.

  • DDR and Target launch redevelopment projects in San Antonio and Denver

    Beachwood, Ohio -- Shopping center owner and developer Developers Diversified Realty Corp. said Wednesday it will raze Terrell Plaza shopping center in San Antonio, Texas, and an existing two-story enclosed mall at Tamarac Square in Denver, Colo., to accommodate Target Corp.’s construction of two new stores.

    DDR said it intends to redevelop adjacent retail space at both centers.

  • Soma Intimates to open at Town Center at Boca Raton

    Boca Raton, Fla. -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group announced that Soma Intimates, a Chico FAS company, will open on May 25 at Town Center at Boca Raton, located in Boca Raton, Fla.
