  • Sephora at J.C. Penney and Francesca’s to open at Coral Square Mall

    Coral Springs, Fla. -- Sephora at J.C. Penney will open a 1,500-sq.-ft. location at Coral Square Mall, in Coral Springs, in mid-April. Francesca’s Collections is also slated to open in mid-April.

    Coral Square Mall, owned by Simon Property Group, features anchor stores Macy’s/Ladies Apparel, Macy’s/Men's, Children & Home Store, J.C. Penney and Sears, as well as more than 120 specialty stores and eateries.

  • Jones Lang LaSalle to lease and manage Kirkwood Mall

    Bismarck, N.D. -- Chicago-based Jones Lang LaSalle announced that it has been named as the new property and leasing manager for Kirkwood Mall, an 845,000-sq.-ft. enclosed mall in Bismarck, N.D., by an affiliate of Radiant Partners that recently purchased the mall from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

    Kirkwood Mall was built in 1970 and contains 80 shops, anchored by Herberger’s, I. Keating Furniture World, J.C. Penney, Scheels and Target.
     

  • The Wilder Cos. awarded contract for Wayside Commons

    Boston -- The Wilder Cos. said it has been awarded the leasing and management contract for Wayside Commons, an open-air shopping center in Burlington, Mass.

    The contract was awarded by UBS Realty Investors of Hartford, Conn.

    Wayside Commons is a 195,100-sq.-ft. outdoor center home to one of only three full-line, 30,000-sq.-ft. signature L.L. Bean stores in Massachusetts as well as a mix of retailers including Arhaus Furniture, Coldwater Creek, Eileen Fisher Company Store, Stellabella Toys and Capital Grille.

  • Sundance Cinemas to open at Bayou Place

    Houston -- Los Angeles-based Sundance Cinemas, Baltimore-based The Cordish Cos. and the City of Houston announced that a lease has been signed for the former Angelika center space at Bayou Place in the theatre district of Downtown Houston.

    Sundance said it expects the extensive refurbishment work to begin immediately on the eight-screen complex with the target of a Nov. 1 opening.

  • Brooks Bros. opens at Phillips Place

    Charlotte, N.C. -- Lincoln Harris, which handles the leasing and management for luxury retail center Phillips Place, said that Brooks Bros. has moved from its current location in SouthPark Mall, in Charlotte, N.C., and opened a new store in Phillips Place.

    The new 8,800-sq.-ft. store is located in the courtyard area of Phillips Place in space previously occupied by Modern Salon.

  • Developers Diversified receives five MAXI awards

    Beachwood, Ohio -- Developers Diversified Realty Corp. said that it earned one MAXI Gold and four MAXI Silver awards for shopping center marketing and management programs at the International Council of Shopping Centers' Fusion Conference in Hollywood, Calif.

    In the Sales Promotions and Events category, a MAXI Gold was awarded to the 25 on the 25th event at Deer Park Town Center in Chicago. The center developed a wine-tasting promotion to showcase a local merchant and encourage shoppers to explore the center.

  • Simon launches installation of electric vehicle charging stations

    Indianapolis -- Mall owner Simon Property Group announced Tuesday that it has completed its first installation of an electric vehicle charging station at one of its shopping centers.

    The initial installation has been completed at Simon's Florida Mall in Orlando and will be complete at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, Calif., later in April.

  • Yoga By Degrees and Smashburger to open at Rice Lake Square

    Wheaton, Ill. -- Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Mid-America Asset Management said that Yoga By Degrees and Smashburger recently signed leases at Rice Lake Square in Wheaton, Ill., a western suburb of Chicago.

    The independently owned yoga studio is slated to open this spring in 4,598 sq. ft. of space. Denver-based Smashburger, a privately held gourmet burger chain, leased 2,200 sq. ft. of space, with plans to open this summer.

    Rice Lake Square is a 251,313-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by Whole Foods, Stein Mart, Borders and PetSmart.
