Regal renews lease for 16-screen cinema in Miami

8/20/2019
For longtime Dade County retail player Berkowitz Development, the show goes on at its Kendall Village Center at the intersection of Florida’s Turnpike and Kendall Drive in Miami.

Regal has signed a new long-term lease for its 72,000-sq.-ft. Regal Kendall Village IMAX & RPX at the center, which will undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation and capital improvement program.

As part of the lease agreement with Berkowitz, Regal will add technology to enhance the movie-going experience, a new exterior facade, upgraded seating, and cafés with new food and drink offerings.

“Regal has been a staple in West Kendall for generations and we applaud their efforts to reinvent the experience,” said developer Michael Berkowitz.

Regal, a subsidiary of the Cineworld Group, operates 7,211 screens in 549 theatres nationwide.
