Playboy Drops Anchor in London

London, Playboy will open its largest store to date, on Oxford Street in London. The three-story boutique is set to open this week to coincide with London's Fashion Week.

The new store will mark Playboy's return to London for the first time in more than 25 years. The Playboy Club on Park Lane was popular during the '60s, and its casino, which closed in 1981, also ranked as the most profitable in the world at that time, the report said.

Playboy's recent major expansion efforts have included new retail shops, casinos and an Internet social-networking site similar to Facebook. In 2009, the company will debut Playboy Mansion Macao, a 40,000-sq.-ft. entertainment venue.
