La Palmera launches smart phone app

2/1/2011

Corpus Christi, Texas -- La Palmera shopping center, located in Corpus Christi, Texas, said it has launched a new smart phone application designed for all smart phone platforms, including Android, Blackberry and iPhone.

The new app, in development since September 2010, officially launched with a La Palmera Facebook posting to its 6,600 fans.

After downloading the app, shoppers will be asked to create a profile, including shopping preferences and categories where they would like to find special deals. The app offers a variety of categories: “Shop,” for a list of all stores; “Dine,” for all available dining options; and “Indulge,” for all the ways to get pampered at La Palmera. Users will also find a “Map” tab for a mall directory and list of stores as well as “Deals” tab to bring up all current promotions in one place. Store information, including specials can also be accessed individually for each of the more than 100 La Palmera tenants with links to call the store directly or to visit the store’s website, if available.

La Palmera is a 1 million-sq.-ft. super-regional mall with more than 100 retail and restaurant tenants including Dillard’s, J.C. Penney and Macy’s. Obtained in July 2008 by Trademark Property, La Palmera is the first mall to be LEED-CS pre-certified pursuing Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Following a $50 million renovation, the mall features a new outdoor main entrance featuring P.F. Chang’s and Grimaldi’s, 600-seat food court with a 4,500-gallon feature aquarium and a children’s ocean-themed play area.
