Crayola Experience heading to Texas

The Lone Star state is set to get a big dose of Crayola color.



The iconic brand will open a Crayola Experience at The Shops at Willow Bend, Plano, Texas, in spring 2018. This is the fourth location for the attraction, which also has locations in Orlando, Fla., Bloomington, Minn. (at Mall of America), and its hometown of Easton, Pa.



The 60,000-sq.-ft. Crayola Experience will include a 5,000-sq.-ft. retail space, The Crayola Store, which features what is billed as “the world’s largest” selection of Crayola products and unique souvenirs. Although best known for its crayons and markers, the 114-year-old company now has more than 1,500 proprietary products and technologies, which serve as the inspiration for Crayola Experience’s 22 hands-on activities and live entertainment.



"Crayola Experience is more than just an attraction. It’s a place where families come together to create, play and make memories that will last a lifetime,” said Smith Holland, Crayola CEO.



At Crayola Experience, visitors can name and wrap their own Crayola crayon (Wrap It Up!), star in their own coloring page (Be a Star), and use their touch to bring art to 4-D life (Color Magic). They can also create melted wax spin-art (Drip Art) and learn how crayons are made in a live Factory Show.



Crayola Experience in Plano will be open 365 days a year. It also will host private events, group trips and birthday parties.
