PopUp Bagels has made its debut in one of America’s most-visited tourist destinations.

The Connecticut-based bagel chain, known for its “Grip, Rip and Dip” bagels and unique weekly schmear offerings, has opened a new store in New York City’s Times Square. PopUp Bagels says the Broadway location represents a “full-circle moment” for the brand, which opened its first brick-and-mortar New York City location in Greenwich Village in 2023.

The Times Square outpost is open daily between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00p.m., marking the latest hours of any of the company's locations.

“New York has been such an important part of the PopUp story, so opening a shop in Times Square feels pretty surreal,” said founder Adam Goldberg, who launched the company in 2020. “What started with people picking up bags of hot bagels from my backyard has turned into this incredible community of people who genuinely love the brand and everything it stands for. New Yorkers have brought so much energy and excitement to what we do, and to now have a home in the city’s heartbeat feels deeply special.”

PopUp Bagels operates more than 50 locations across 15 states, including 14 in New York alone. Last year, the chain said its goal was to reach 100 open locations by the end of 2027.

“Times Square is one of the most iconic destinations in New York City, and the world,” said Tory Bartlett, CEO of PopUp Bagels. “Opening here is symbolic of how far we’ve come, and a true celebration for the community that has brought us to where we are and where we are headed. We can't wait to welcome New Yorkers and longtime fans, but we're especially excited to introduce visitors from around the world to the PopUp Bagels experience.”
