Petco widens on-demand delivery offering with Uber Eats
Petco Health and Wellness Company Inc. is entering a new partnership with the online delivery subsidiary of Uber.
A curated assortment of 15,000 Petco pet products, including food, toys and treats, is now available for on-demand or scheduled delivery on the Uber Eats platform from all Petco locations in the contiguous U.S.
Customers can browse and purchase Petco’s curated assortment of products directly through the Uber Eats app. To celebrate the launch, new and existing Uber Eats users can receive 40% off orders of $50 or more (up to $30). Members of the Uber One paid loyalty program will receive their benefits, such as $0 delivery fees on eligible purchases, on Petco orders.
"People are more connected and committed to their pets today than ever before," said Steve Janowiak, VP of digital at Petco. "We’re thrilled to partner with Uber Eats and give pet parents another easy way to get the trusted food, treats and supplies they need—right to their door and right when they need it."
To place an Uber Eats delivery order, Petco customers can open the Uber Eats app and navigate to the retail or pet supplies category, then search for Petco and browse the product assortment. Petco shoppers can then add items to their cart, select a delivery time, and place their order, with real-time tracking capability.
Petco’s partnership with Uber Eats is its latest initiative to offer third-party delivery options. The retailer entered an agreement with DoorDash in December 2020. In addition, Petco has offered delivery via Shipt, the same-day delivery service owned by Target, since 2019 and been offering same-day delivery in partnership with Instacart since 2016.

Meanwhile, the launch of Petco on Uber Eats underscores Uber’s continued efforts to expand its retail and grocery delivery offerings beyond its initial focus on takeout restaurant food.
"As the pet parent of two naughty cats and one playful German Shepherd, I’m thrilled to welcome Petco to Uber Eats and help make life easier for so many caregivers across the country," said Hashim Amin, Uber’s head of retail in North America. "With Uber’s technology and nationwide delivery network, we’re making it more convenient than ever to get the quality pet products families count on delivered straight to your doorstep."
Based in San Diego, Petco operates more than 1,500 stores across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico. Uber launched Uber Eats in 2014.
