Longstanding apparel and wool blanket brand Pendleton Woolen Mills is launching its own resale marketplace.

In partnership with resale tech platform Archive, the brand is launching Pendleton Preloved, a peer-to-peer marketplace that allows customers to buy and sell pre-owned Pendleton products directly with one another.  To kick off the launch, Pendleton is opening its vault of more than 200 pieces, including styles previously only sold in Japan and the UK, now available to U.S. shoppers for the first time.

Available to shop at preloved.pendleton-usa.com, Pendleton Preloved launches with apparel, accessories and blankets. The brand says the marketplace is designed for shoppers to list their own pre-owned pieces or discover vintage finds, past-season collections and favorite patterns.

“For more than 160 years, Pendleton has made products designed to last and be passed down,” said Jennifer Ingraffea, CEO of Pendleton. “Pendleton Preloved is an extension of that legacy, celebrating the craftsmanship of our products and the stories they carry from one generation to the next.”

Archive says its comprehensive circularity platform enables brands to launch and scale resale businesses that keep products from being wasted, while simultaneously unlocking a new revenue stream, building customer loyalty and driving customer acquisition.

The company has launched resale businesses for The North Face, Lululemon, Peloton and New Balance.

“Pendleton products are built to endure, and Pendleton Preloved is an organic evolution of that ethos,” said Emily Gittins, CEO of Archive. “By giving customers a brand-backed way to buy and sell pre-owned Pendleton, we’re helping keep beautifully made goods in the hands of people who love them. We’re proud to power this program and be part of how Pendleton carries its heritage forward.”

Founded in 1863, Pendleton operates two of America’s remaining woolen mills located in Pendleton, Ore., and Washougal, Wash. The brand has more than 30 stores across 12 states.
