Pacsun heads to college campuses for football game pop ups

Pacsun will host four more pop up events at college football games this fall.

Pacsun is hitting the road for the college football season.

The California-based apparel retailer kicked off its college series on Saturday, Aug. 30 by hosting a dedicated pop-up shop in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State vs. University of Texas football game. From there, Pacsun will hit the road and visit campuses across the country this fall with all the “must-have styles” for college students.

Guests can shop Pacsun's new college capsules and collaborations like The Wild Collective and the upcoming Hype & Vice collection (launching Sept. 12), as well as everyday class and game day outfits at the pop ups. For women, a vintage-inspired school specific assortment of tank tops, cropped jerseys, skorts, baby tees, shorts, crewnecks and more will be offered. Other hoodies, tees and accessories themed to each game will also be available for men.

This season, fans can catch Pacsun on game day with tailgate pop ups in the following cities:

  • Sept. 13: University of Georgia vs. University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn.
  • Sept. 27: University of Kentucky vs. University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
  • Oct. 4: University of Wisconsin vs. University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
  • Nov. 1: University of Georgia vs. University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.

"Return to campus is one of the biggest shopping moments of the year for our audience and we wanted to show up in a more personal, meaningful way than ever before," said Richard Cox, chief merchandising officer at Pacsun. "By creating memorable, experiential activations in their backyard, we can be a part of these special events and connect directly with our most loyal community."

Pacsun’s college tour is just the latest time the retailer has traveled across the country for events. This year, Pacsun opened pop ups at music festivals including Coachella, Rolling Loud, Governor's Ball and Outside Lands to cater to its Gen Z and millennial customer base.

Founded in 1980 in Newport, Calif., Pacsun operates more than 300 stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
