  • Terry Lundgren and Bill Clinton honored as top dads

    New York -- President Bill Clinton and Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren on Tuesday were honored as 2013 Fathers of the Year by the non-profit National Father's Day Council.

    The awards were given at the group’s annual 72nd annual Father luncheon in New York City, with proceeds from the event benefitting Save the Children’s U.S. programs.

  • Bourbon & Boots pins down Southern lifestyle

    Little Rock, Ark. – By focusing on its brand story and collaborative boards, Southern lifestyle retailer Bourbon & Boots has dramatically increased cross-channel traffic through its presence on the Pinterest social network.

  • Changes to PetSmart board amid CEO transition

    PHOENIX -- PetSmart's board of directors has named Gregory P. Josefowicz its non-executive chairman. Josefowicz has served as a director since 2004 and as lead director since 2006.  

    Chairman and CEO Bob Moran will not stand for election as a director at the company’s 2013 annual stockholder meeting. As previously announced, David Lenhardt, current president and COO, will become the CEO of PetSmart at that time.

  • Track Daily Deal launches deal analysis reports

    Largo, Fla. – Track Daily Deal, an online service for deal site shoppers, is launching new deal analysis reports. The reports evaluate daily deal sites on criteria such as how a site ranks against competing sites, how often and when it adds deals, how much consumers usually save and number of visitors.

  • Survey: Young consumers use mobile retail apps

    Portland, Maine – Consumers younger than 35 are nearly twice as likely to download a mobile app from a retailer or brand as those older than 50, according to data from a new survey conducted by CashStar and Digital Research. More than half of consumers who download retailer or brand mobile apps are use them at least once a week, most commonly for coupons, discounts and sales.

  • OfficeMax and Office Depot hire CEO search consultant

    Naperville, Ill. – OfficeMax Incorporated and Office Depot Inc. have hired global talent management consulting firm Korn/Ferry International to assist the search for a new CEO for the combined company that will result from the proposed OfficeMax-Office Depot merger.

    The search will include both incumbent CEOs Neil Austrian of Office Depot and Ravi Saligram of OfficeMax, as well as external candidates.

  • Overstock.com promotes Polpeka to senior VP

    Salt Lake City – Overstock.com has promoted Brian Popelka to the position of senior VP, customer and partner care. Popelka, who previously served as VP of customer care, will take on management of Overtock’s drop ship fulfillment partnerships along with his existing responsibilities for strategic direction and operational effectiveness of customer care.
