  • GNC adds PayPal’s Mobile Express Checkout

    Pittsburgh — General Nutrition Centers, has added PayPal's Mobile Express Checkout to its mobile site. The integration was made exclusively by mobile and social commerce provider, Branding Brand, without any involvement from third-party service providers, and makes GNC one of the first to implement this feature on its mobile site.

  • Bi-Lo renews agreement with Kronos

    Chelmsford, Mass. -- Kronos announced that Bi-Lo has renewed its contract for Kronos’ selection and hiring solution.

    The Kronos solution is designed to allow Bi-Lo to identify candidates who are likely to perform better and stay longer. Also, hiring managers spend less time weeding out unqualified applicants and are able to fill positions more quickly.

  • Young America and 3Seventy form alliance to develop mobile marketing capabilities

    Eden, Minn. -- Young America, an engagement marketing, loyalty and incentive firm, and 3Seventy, a mobile engagement solutions company, have formed a strategic alliance to jointly develop new mobile marketing capabilities and enhance delivery of mobile-based engagement marketing and loyalty services to their client base.

  • Borders to end in-store café agreement with Seattle’s Best

    New York City -- Borders Group on Thursday said it planned to end its relationship with Seattle's Best Coffee and begin operating its own in-store cafes. 

    The move will allow Borders to reduce licensing fees as it works toward emerging from bankruptcy, a spokeswoman said on Thursday, and also to tailor its menus to customer needs.

    The company said in a filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan that it will seek the court's approval of the move to reject its leases with Seattle's Best.
     

  • C-store chain GasAmerica deploys JobApp Network to improve hiring

    Bloomfield Hills, Mich. -- Convenience-store operator GasAmerica is utilizing JobApp Network’s automated hiring management solution for c-stores. Following a phased approach, the Indiana-based chain has now completed rolling out the solution to all of its 86 locations.

    According to GasAmerica, hiring success starts with JobApp, which makes it easy for people to apply around the clock.

  • Bath and Body Works unit appoints new CEO

    Columbus, Ohio -- The Bath and Body Works unit of Limited Brands said Tuesday it has named former Lands’ End president Nick Coe as its new CEO.

    Current CEO Diane Neal, at the helm since 2007, will remain in that role through the summer. After that, she will transition into an advisory role with the company and work from San Francisco, according to the company.

    Before working a Lands' End, a subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corp., Coe held senior merchandising jobs at Gap’s Banana Republic and at Levi Strauss.
     

  • DSW names former Starbucks exec as human resources head

    Columbus, Ohio -- DSW announced Tuesday that it has Todd S. Cordell as senior VP human resources, effectively immediately.

    Cordell will be responsible for all HR activities in support of DSW Stores, DSW.com, and the DSW Leased Business Division. 

    Cordell was previously VP human resources for Starbucks Coffee Co.

  • Men’s Wearhouse treats its 14,000-plus employees to pizza

    Houston -- The Men's Wearhouse surprised more than 14,000 employees with pizza delivery to every store across North America. To thank employees for their hard work and dedication, more than 42,400 slices of pizza were delivered to more than 1,200 Men’s Wearhouse, MW Cleaners, and K&G Fashion Superstore locations in the United States and Moores Clothing for Men stores in Canada.
