Omnichannel apparel retailer Everlane enhances search with AI

Everlane is applying advanced artificial intelligence (AI) analysis to search queries.

The digitally native apparel brand, which also operates five stores and focuses on sustainability and transparent pricing, is leveraging the Aloglia NeuralSearch AI-based online search platform. With this implementation, Everlane is performing end-to-end AI processing on every search query, in an effort to improve the speed and accuracy of results.

Using Algolia’s AI-based search processing capabilities, Everlane says it achieved a 45% decrease in the return of “no results,” a 5% increase in conversions, and an 8% increase in its click-through rate. 

In addition, leveraging natural language understanding, automatic vectorization (using machine learning to put unstructured data such as images into context), adaptive learning, and intelligent query suggestions, Everlane is better able to decipher complex, longtail queries that are made in dynamic, conversational language. According to the retailer, 55% of its searches fit this description.

Shoe Carnival automates search processing

Specialty footwear retailer Shoe Carnival Inc. also leverages Algolia AI-based search technology, as part of a larger implementation of AI in its e-commerce environment.
