Walmart opening in-store Netflix hubs — complete with streaming gift cards

Walmart is expanding its online Netflix hub to its brick-and-mortar stores.

Walmart’s popular online storefront devoted to Netlix shows-related merchandise is going physical.

In October 2021,  the streaming giant opened The Netflix Hub — its first-ever digital storefront with a national retailer — on Walmart’s e-commerce site. The two companies have expanded the initiative and Walmart is now opening in-store Netflex hubs in its more than 2,400 stores nationwide.

The in-store hubs feature music, apparel, collectibles, games and seasonal items tied to popular Nexflix programs and movies, ranging from “Stranger Things” to “Squid Game” to “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” and more, with new products dropping seasonally. Also featured: curated “concession kits” that include the type of snacks sold in movie theatres.

“From popcorn and confectionary to collectible cups, we've created curated kits with everything customers need to amplify the couch-centric viewing experience,” said Frank Barbieri, VP content and digital, Walmart U.S.

In addition, Walmart will sell a low-price Netflix streaming gift card. The card will give customers the opportunity to stream trending favorites without needing a credit or debit card.

“We are so excited to continue bringing exclusive experiences and fan-favorite products to our customers where and when they are shopping,” Barbieri said. “Let’s get streaming.”
