Nike executive joins C-suite at Crate & Barrel

A longtime Nike executive has joined the leadership team at Crate & Barrel Holdings (CBH).

The Chicago-based, 60-year-old home furnishings retailer has appointed Mike Brewer as COO. Starting February 1, he will oversee operations for CBH's entire portfolio of brands, including Crate & Barrel, CB2, Crate & Kids and Hudson Grace.

Brewer brings with him a broad range of experience, including 20 years at Nike where he served in a variety of roles spanning sourcing, manufacturing and supply chain. Most recently, from June 2018, he served as VP, global sourcing and manufacturing. Prior to that, Brewer was VP, global operations and logistics.

"I look forward to the leadership and expertise Mike will bring to CBH with his customer-centric and purpose-driven mindset," said Janet Hayes, CEO of Crate & Barrel Holdings. "We are confident his experience will further our goals of operational excellence and elevate the modern shopping experience and products our customers turn to brands for."

The addition of Brewer as COO comes as a part of the organization's ongoing efforts to evaluate and alter its structure in ways that help support overall growth, the company said. In May, the company promoted three executives to drive its future growth and added a new metaverse position.

"I admire Crate & Barrel Holdings' commitment to creating meaningful connections with customers across its omnichannel offerings," said Brewer. "I'm excited to join this ambitious team and drive solutions that positively transform our customer journey and meet current and future retail challenges."

Founded in 1962, Crate & Barrel Holdings Inc. is a member of the Otto Group. It operates more than 100 namesake, CB2 and Hudson Grace stores throughout the United States and Canada, with franchise locations in nine countries.  (CBH acquired Hudson Grace, a boutique home decor, entertaining and gift brand based in San Francisco, in 2019.)
