  • Custom retail fixture maker names new executives

    PHILADELPHIA — Sparks, a maker of custom retail fixtures, has appointed two new executives to their business development team.  Ilicia Manger and Jeffery Buttson bring a combined total of 35 years of retail fixture industry experience to the Sparks executive team.

  • Office Depot earns award for e-commerce service

    BOCA RATON, Fla. — Office Depot, announced that it has won two Silver Stevie Awards in the seventh annual Stevie Awards for sales and customer service. 

    Office Depot was honored with Silver Stevie Awards for e-commerce customer service, which recognized Office Depot’s expanded chat services for web customers and the telesales team of the year.

  • Cabela’s customers continue to buy guns

    First quarter same store sales are expected to increase in the high teens at Cabela’s and drive earnings substantially higher than analysts’ estimates, the retailer said late Tuesday in advance of an investor conference today.

    Cabela’s reported a firearms and ammunition driven 12% same store sales increase for its fourth quarter ended December 29, 2012. When those results were released a month ago the company said the favorable trends seen in the fourth quarter had accelerated into the first quarter.

  • Ulta Beauty names CFO

    Bolingbrook, Ill.  — Ulta Beauty has appointed Scott Settersten as CFO and assistant secretary, effective immediately. Settersten will report to Dennis Eck, interim CEO.

    Settersten has been acting CFO and assistant secretary since October 2012. He joined Ulta Beauty in January 2005 as director of financial reporting.

    Prior to joining Ulta Beauty, Settersten spent 15 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a certified public accountant serving in various senior manager roles in the assurance and risk management practices.

  • Urban Outfitters deploys PCSTrac’s next-generation inventory management tool

    Philadelphia -- PCSTrac, in partnership with Urban Outfitters, has launched the next generation of StoreTrac software,a web-based inventory control and management application for retail store operations.

    The enhanced application delivers a store-level snapshot of shipments by volume and category type, as well as key details such as SKU, style, item quantity, item description, and shipment history on forthcoming shipments.

  • Target completes sale of credit card portfolio to TD Bank

    Minneapolis -- Target Corp. said it has completed the sale of its entire consumer credit card portfolio to TD Bank Group for $5.7 billion, the gross value of the outstanding receivables at the time of closing.
     

  • Target Canada off on right note with Bublé partnership

    TORONTO — Target Canada has announced its first entertainment sponsorship with three-time Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Michael Bublé. The retailer will sell an exclusive deluxe edition of Bublé's highly anticipated sixth studio album, "To Be Loved."  The exclusive version of the album, featuring three bonus tracks, will hit stores April 22 and continue to be available as Target stores open across Canada throughout 2013.
