  • Weather Trends: March 2014

    WTI expects March 2014 to trend similar in temperature to last year and below normal for the U.S. as a whole. The month starts out with cold, possibly record-breaking, in the North along with some potentially snowy and/or icy weather as a storm system moves through. Colder trends linger into the second week of the month, but toward St.Patrick’s day, temperatures look to take a turn toward trending warmer than last year.

  • Domino’s extends advertising partnership with CP&B

    Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Domino's Pizza has finalized a renewal agreement with its national agency of record, CP+B, through 2016. The partnership began in 2008 and included Domino’s “Pizza Turnaround” in 2010, when the chain changed its core pizza recipe.

  • Align appoints VP of sales

    Align, a global provider of technology infrastructure solutions, has appointed Mark Rode as VP of sales and will drive solutions and programs focused on data center, application migrations, systems, networks and storage, cloud and managed services initiatives.

  • EBay Enterprise extends marketing partnership with Karmaloop

  • P&G unveils new campaign aimed at Latinas

    Procter & Gamble's Orgullosa program — a platform created in 2011 to celebrate, empower and fuel Latinas’ accomplishments and dreams — unveiled its Nueva Latina campaign. The campaign is a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to empower women to define what it means to be a bicultural, modern Latina.

  • Study: Retailers move past channels with mobile strategies

    Walnut Creek, Calif. – Retailers are taking an increasingly omni-channel approach to their mobile strategies, looking to combine mobile with existing channels rather than treat it as a separate entity. According to a new study from RSR Research, “Mobile in Retail: Reality Sets In,” 49% of retail respondents said the purpose of their mobile strategy is to drive traffic to the store in 2014, compared to 33% in 2013.

  • Sears narrows loss in fourth quarter

    As far as sales go, Sears Holdings didn’t have a very happy holiday. But the company was still able to narrow its loss for the fourth quarter, as it lowered expenses and reduced inventory.

    The company said the costs of transforming into a member-centric retailer using an integrated online platform and the omnichannel Shop Your Way membership program fueled its net losses. It attributed declining revenues to lower same-store sales and having fewer stores in operation.

  • Alliance Data renews agreement with HSN

    Dallas -- Alliance Data Systems, a global provider of data-driven marketing and loyalty solutions, today announced its Retail Services business has signed a multi-year renewal agreement to continue providing both private label and co-brand credit card services for lifestyle and entertainment retailer HSN.
