    Jacksonville, Fla. -- tw telecom, a provider of Business Ethernet and networking solutions announced it was selected by Stein Mart to provide Internet protocol virtual private network (IP VPN) service nationwide. The technology will allow Stein Mart to directly connect and securely pass data to its more than 270 stores and data centers nationwide.

  • Dads get even less love this year

    Father’s Day is already the smallest of gift-giving holidays and this year Americans are expected to spend even less, according to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2014 Father’s Day Spending Survey, conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics.

    The survey found that the average person will spend $113.80 on neckties, tools, electronics and other special gifts for dad, slightly down from $119.84 last year. Total spending for the holiday is expected to reach $12.5 billion.

    Atlanta -- EarthLink Holdings Corp., a managed network and cloud services provider, announced that Anna’s Linens have selected the company to provide a comprehensive managed network solution and SIP Trunking for voice over IP for its more than three hundred stores and 3,200 employees.

    To accommodate their rapid growth, increasingly centralized IT model, and need to run more applications, Anna's IT leaders worked in collaboration with EarthLink partner Grauman Communications to transition to an EarthLink MPLS network and SIP Trunking.

    Vera Bradley has named Karen Peters as EVP, retail and wholesale sales.

    Peters has 25 years of retail experience including multi-store management and merchandising. Between February 2005 and March 2014, she served as SVP, director of stores for Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th. Prior to that, she held key management positions with Sears, Target and Kohl's.
