Walmart pushes last-minute deals on popular gifts

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Walmart announced that, starting Dec. 19 and through the following week, it will offer big savings on popular last-minute gifts.

From Dec. 19 through Dec. 24, customers who purchase an 8GB iPod Nano for $145 will receive a with a free $50 iTunes gift card with purchase, while supplies last. On Dec. 20, Walmart will offer such popular toys as Jenga Hand Held game, Barbie Fashionista dolls and Moon Sand kit for $8 each. On the mornings of Dec. 21 through Dec. 23, the coveted Zhu Zhu Hamsters will be the stars of a special sales event.  Anticipating high interest, stores will be organizing lines in the hours before the 7 a.m. event each day as needed, and customers will be assigned numbers as lines build, as supplies last. Customers will be limited to one per person, and distributions will vary, with a minimum of 20 per day at smaller stores to more than 60 per day in most stores.  

Walmart announced other deals will include a $5 Roadmaster 12-volt Heated Stainless Steel Vacuum Mug and a $19 TaylorMade Burner TP golf balls (pack of 12).
