Walmart continues cost-savings campaign

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Walmart announced that it is continuing its Operation Main Street initiatives to help customers save money during the holiday season. Beginning in stores Dec. 14, Walmart will offer popular gifts at reduced prices, including gifts for him at $10 and $20 to entertainment products and brands, including a 2GB Toshiba laptop and 32-inch Sharp LCD HDTV both priced at $398.

Walmart.com has also extended its free shipping Site to Store order cut-off date by seven days (through Dec. 17). The popular service provides free shipping of online orders to local Walmart stores, and the retailer expects to save customers more than $40 million in shipping fees this Christmas season.
