Under Armour taps Cardinals cornerback as ambassador

8/1/2014

Under Armour has signed a multi-year partnership with Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. As brand ambassador, Peterson will wear Under Armour cleats and clothes on the field and during training.

“Adding Patrick, one of the game's best players who is still only 24-years-old, to the Under Armour football roster continues our leadership position in the sport where our brand was born," the company’s EVP, global marketing, Matt Mirchin, said. “We'll provide Patrick with performance footwear, apparel and equipment that's engineered to provide a performance advantage, and we know he'll provide his will and full commitment to the game.”

Peterson was the fifth pick in the NFL draft in 2011, and has been the Cardinals’ starting cornerback for all 48 games he’s played since being drafted. His NFL career — during which he has tied the record for the number of punt return touchdowns in a season — comes after a long college career at Louisiana State University.

“I'm excited about this partnership because my goal is to never stop improving and I know that Under Armour is passionate about making athletes better,” Peterson said. “Together, we're going to take performance and innovation on the football field to the next level.”
