TRU looks to scare up sales with in-store 'spook'tiques

WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us annonced that in honor of Halloween it is opening dedicated in-store "spook"tiques offering a broad assortment of costumes and accessories, safety gear, candy and more. The retailer said it will also host a special trick-or-treat event in its stores nationwide on Saturday, Oct. 29.


“From cute and cuddly animals for infants to blockbuster heroes for boys and princesses for girls, Toys“R”Us is the one-stop shop for costumes and accessories that kids can’t wait to wear,” said Lisa Harnisch, VP, general merchandise manager core toys and seasonal for Toys“R”Us, U.S. “Trick-or-treaters seeking inspiration will also be able to view online videos of this year’s most popular costumes, showcased by boys, girls and toddlers as they walk the runway in all-new Halloween fashions.”


The Halloween "spook"tiques will feature a wide variety of costumes including action heroes, princesses and witches, for children of all ages, the company reported.


Toys"R"Us also launched its online costume catalog, available at Toysrus.com/Halloween, which features an extensive assortment of costumes and accessories for kids of all ages. The site will feature videos showcasing the latest costume trends.
