Toys 'R' Us launches omnichannel holiday promotion

Wayne, N.J. –- Toys 'R' Us Inc. is releasing The Great Big Christmas Book, the company’s annual holiday gift guide. More than 8 million Toys 'R' Us customers will receive a special edition of The Great Big Christmas Book, with deals valid Sunday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 22, plus several “Ultimate Wish Saturday” events to be held throughout the month.



The 2014 guide features 80 pages of toys divided into nine play-themed chapters, and is also available in digital format on the Toys 'R' Us website. In addition, Toys 'R' Us is offering a Wish List app for iOS and Android devices that turns a smartphone into a scanner, allowing users to scan the barcode of a toy. Once scanned, the toy is then added to a digital Wish List which can be accessed on any smartphone or PC, and shared via SMS, email, Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, customers can purchase items from their Wish Lists, right from the app.



Toys 'R' Us will also showcase toys and deals found in this year’s The Great Big Christmas Book on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, using #LetsPlay.



Other holiday promotions Toys 'R' Us is offering include a new loyalty program, Rewards ‘R' Us, a price match guarantee, free online layaway, free in-store pickup of online orders in an hour or less, and free home shipping for online purchases of $49 or more.



“Each year, millions of kids and kids at heart eagerly anticipate the arrival of The Great Big Christmas Book with crayons and markers in hand, ready to circle their must-haves,” said Richard Barry, executive VP, chief merchandising officer, Toys 'R' Us. “As children inspect each chapter of this year’s catalog, they can carefully prepare their wish lists and dream about the toys and magical play experiences that await them on Christmas morning.”
