Target turns heads trackside
The most exciting aspect of this past weekend’s NASCAR race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway was the cool new “Target Race Carts” that were trackside before the race. The 10-foot tall and 13-foot long fully operational, motorized carts are modeled after actual Target shopping carts, except they seat two and are capable of holding 500 pounds of product used for race day sampling purposes. A 250 cubic-inch propane engine enables the cart to travel at speeds up to 35 miles per hour. Target street teams will drive and accompany the race carts throughout the race track property, beginning on Fridays and running through Sundays of select race weekends, where they will distribute samples and coupon books for brands such as Glad, Energizer, Breathe Right, Gillette, Air Wick, Nicorette, Armor All and Tums. For added exposure, the carts are hauled to races on open bed trailers.
