Target, Instacart take Thanksgiving on the road

11/11/2015

Purchasing all the ingredients needed for a Thanksgiving meal just got easier for San Francisco residents.

Target and Instacart are partnering to provide a food truck featuring Thanksgiving recipes and coupon codes, as well as grocery delivery, in downtown San Francisco.

The afternoon and evening of Wednesday, Nov. 11 and evening of Thursday, Nov. 12, the truck will be parked in three different downtown San Francisco locations with samples of a variety of Thanksgiving food items used in recipes on Target’s Pinterest page. A recipe booklet featuring an Instacart-Target coupon code will also be made available.

Customers can then place same-day delivery orders from Target via Instacart at the truck.

This partnership combines the physical interaction of pop-up shops with the convenience of online delivery, and also ties in Target’s social activities on the popular Pinterest visual platform. As omnichannel retail continues evolving, more highly targeted and time-specific offerings that seamlessly tie in multiple channels will likely “pop up.”
