Target aims at last-minute shoppers

Target Corp. is targeting last-minute holiday shoppers by offering promotions to customers in need of pickup or delivery, and to users of the retailer's Cartwheel app.


Cartwheel users will get 50% off a different toy every day until Dec. 24. Also, from now until Christmas, Cartwheel will feature more than 150 offers at 25% off or more.


Orders placed at Target.com through Dec. 20 can still be delivered by Christmas. After Saturday, Customers can use Target’s Store Pickup option.


On Christmas Eve, customers can place online orders for store pickup as late as 5 p.m. and have their items ready that day. Stores will offer extended hours through the holiday season, but are closed Christmas Day.


“We know our guests have a lot to tackle the week before Christmas and we want to make sure shopping remains fun and stress-free,” said Kathee Tesija, chief merchandising and supply chain officer at Target. “From now until Christmas, we’re making it even easier for guests to complete their lists with great deals, free shipping through Dec. 20, and the latest cutoff for same-day store pickup we have ever offered on Christmas Eve.”


Finally, Target will host a Last Minute Sale in stores from Dec. 22-24 to help guests complete their holiday shopping lists. Top deals will include:




  • Free $30 Target Gift Card with the purchase of a 16GB iPad Mini with Wi-Fi


  • Free $30 Target Gift Card with the purchase of an iPhone 5C for $30 (regularly $99)


  • $10 off any toy purchase of $75 or more with in-ad coupon


  • 20 percent off all LEGO Super Heroes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Legends of Chima sets
