Study: Marketing key to online retail growth

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. According to a new survey by JupiterResearch, sponsored by e-commerce solutions provider ChannelAdvisor, 75% of online retailers surveyed cited multi-channel expansion as a key component in their marketing strategies. Ninety-eight percent report they market on at least two online channels.

The survey found that 75% of the online retailers surveyed who use multiple online channels enjoyed increased sales, 80% saw increased customer acquisitions and 71% reported significant growth in qualified customers.

 

The survey also found that 55% of retailers who use multiple online channels outsourced some marketing initiatives. Of those, 69% reported increased sales while 65% report increased customer acquisition.
