Starbucks launching subscription delivery service of high-end coffees
Seattle -- Starbucks Coffee Company is taking its coffee to an entirely new level as it continues to target consumers who are willing to pay for super-premium brews. The company said Tuesday it will offer online customers subscription delivery of its small-lot coffees.
Available in monthly increments, the small-lot coffees that Starbucks will sell via subscription will be roasted at its new Seattle Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room facility. Starbucks said customers will receive their coffee within three to five days of it being roasted, depending on location.
“The Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room has redefined what customers expect from a brick-and-mortar retail experience,” said Howard Schultz, chairman, president and CEO, Starbucks. “Combining the magic of this unique retail theater with our digital infrastructure brings two of our best assets together and ensures that customers can experience the world’s rarest coffees in the privacy of their own homes or anywhere else they might want the most premium coffee we offer.”
The coffee company is providing a range of subscriptions, including a one month deal for $24, or a year-long agreement for $288, according to reports.
