Smoke less, smell better

11/6/2010

All this month Target is promoting an initiative called Celebrate Smoke-free designed to promote the benefits of not smoking while helping customer and employees choose a strategy to quit that suits their needs and lifestyle. Target hasn’t sold cigarettes in its stores since 1996.

The retailer does offer a wide assortment of stop-smoking aids and is giving those items greater visibility to Target Pharmacy and Target Clinic healthcare professionals who can offer support, smoking-cessation materials and advice. The month-long campaign is promoted with in-store signing, informational brochures and features in the weekly ad and at Target.com. The program coincides with the American Cancer Society’s 2010 Great American Smokeout on Nov.18. The Great American Smokeout is now in its 35th year.
