10/28/2009

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. Sears and Kmart have announced that they have extended their Christmas Club card program. Holiday shoppers can still qualify for a 3% reward, as the Christmas Club card activation date has now been extended from Oct. 31 to Nov. 14.

The Christmas Club card allows shoppers to save ahead for their holiday purchases at Sears and Kmart before hitting the stores or surfing the Internet. According to the companies, since the program launch in August, Sears and Kmart Christmas Club cardholders have been adding funds on a regular basis onto this unique gift card, knowing that they will receive a special reward when they do.

"The response from Sears and Kmart customers has been just terrific and the number of cards sold to date has more than surpassed our expectations," said Susan Ehrlich, president of financial services for Sears Holdings. "We decided to extend the Christmas Club card activation date so that even more of our customers can save ahead and receive this reward before the holiday rush really begins."
