Pier I Q1 same-store sales jump 14.3%

Fort Worth, Texas Pier 1 Imports said Thursday that its same-store sales rose 14.3% in the first quarter, as it drew more customers and they spent more on average.

Total revenue for the three month period ending May 29 rose 9% to $306 million, from $281 million last year.
