Overstock launches first TV commerce campaign

10/8/2014

Overstock has enlisted Delivery Agent for its first TV commerce campaign, called "Overstocktober," which will enable viewers from now through Oct. 15 to purchase products directly from Overstock television commercials.

The online retailer is leveraging Delivery Agent’s ShopTV t-commerce platform so shoppers with Smart TVs and connected device homes can purchase items on e-retailer’s site directly from their television.

"At Overstock, we pride ourselves in continuing to innovate and adapt our business to the wants and needs of our online shopping customers," said Overstock's SVP of marketing, Saum Noursalehi. "This agreement with Delivery Agent allows us to be one of the first major retailers to offer consumers the ability to make purchases directly from their televisions, and we're excited for future possibilities of television commerce; including the potential to expand into in-show interactions."

"Adding Overstock to our list of retail partners offering television commerce solutions reinforces the importance of the television as an engagement and transactional device," said Mike Fitzsimmons, Delivery Agent CEO. "Consumers interact with brands online, on their cell phones and on their tablets — enhancing the way they can interact via television is the natural evolution."

Overstock is the second mass merchant retailer that Delivery Agent has incorporated into its ShopTV application. Insight from the "Overstocktober" campaign will enable Overstock and Delivery Agent to build a roadmap for future consumer-brand engagements via the television, the companies said.

Delivery Agent maintains long term partnerships with NBC, FOX, CBS, HBO, Showtime, Pepsi, Visa, Comcast, Cablevision, AT&T, Verizon and Samsung.
