OfficeMax unveils new design service

10/8/2007

NAPERVILLE, Ill. OfficeMax is looking to impress businesses with their new print and document service, the company announced last month.

In an effort to bridge the gap between do-it-yourself design and hiring design agencies for print services, the company is expanding its line of business design services with its new forte called ImPress.

By offering more than 1,000 new customizable business card and stationery designs, customers can produce individual designs, using design templates by uploading artwork into an existing design, or by creating a new identity from scratch.

"Expanding OfficeMax ImPress's design services comes at a critical time," said Ryan Vero, executive vp and chief merchandising officer for OfficeMax. “We see a new service niche emerging because small business owners want more control over designs, but they fall short on skills and resources. Plus, they don't have time to keep going back and forth on design concepts.”

Additionally, customers are able to see artwork in real-time with the addition of on-site design kiosks. This technology also enables customers to apply designs instantly across coordinating stationery, brochures, labels, folders and more.

“Gone are the days where creativity is limited to picking a template out of a catalogue and hoping the design turns out as good as the picture,” Vero said. “Now customers can see their creation in real time."
