Nickelodeon names music marketing vp


NEW YORK Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group has named Doug Cohn to the newly created position of senior vp of music marketing and talent for Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. He will report to Pam Kaufman, chief marketing officer for Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, and Paula Kaplan, evp of talent and West Coast general manager of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

In this new role, Cohn will spearhead the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group's music business, promoting new and existing Nickelodeon music franchises. 

"As we begin this exciting new venture with Sony and the expansion of Nickelodeon music, we wanted the best talent on our staff to execute these projects," said Kaufman. "Doug is a veteran of the music industry whose expertise will help grow our music business. He will help to uncover the most creative, fresh and relevant content and talent for the Kids and Family Group."

Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Cohn held various posts over his 13 years at Atlantic Records. Most recently, as the senior vp of video promotion and production, he oversaw all music video production, promotion and marketing initiatives for the label. He is also a veteran of MTV Networks, having been at VH1 from 2000 to 2002 as director of VH1 music and talent relations, responsible for interacting with record labels, managers and artists, and helping steer the channel's musical direction.
