New gossip: Anna Sui's new line at Target

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. The "Gossip Girl" phenomenon has taken root at Target in the form of a new line from designer Anna Sui. The exclusive collection for Target is part of Target Designer Collaborations series and will be available for limited time at select Target stores beginning Sept. 13.

From the classic, preppy look of Blaire to the bohemian chic style of Sarina, the Anna Sui line draws inspiration from the heroines of the popular CW network show, according to Target. The line features sweaters, blouses, dresses, cropped pants and mini skirts in a variety of colors and textures including satin, tulle and herringbone. Items in the collection range in price from $19.99 to $149.99.

"When I was in Asia last year, girls kept asking me about the different areas in New York City by referring to them as where the characters from "Gossip Girl" live," said Anna Sui. "I really wanted to create a collection reflective of the four main characters."

What "Sex and the City" did for women's fashion, "Gossip Girl" seems to be doing for teen fashion. Common accessories worn on the show, such as Blaire's headbands, have become trendy, so it makes sense Target would want to benefit from the show's strong influence on teen style. Couple that with a well-known designer in Anna Sui, and the collection should prove a success.
