Marsh to test mobile offers via


Indianapolis Marsh Supermarkets said it is planning to test a new mobile marketing idea at two stores before the end of the year, according to a report by Supermarket News.

In the test, consumers in Marsh's marketing areas who text a question to information service will receive with their answer an offer from Marsh. A shopper who selects the offer would go to one of the test stores, print out the offer there and redeem it at the checkout.

Marsh also runs a Marsh Mobile program in which shoppers opt to receive text messages on weekly specials and promotions.
