9/8/2010

NEW YORK Macy's is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the launch of its El Encanto Latino campaign.

“An empowering call to action, Macy’s El Encanto Latino events will help celebrate Latino culture and contributions while also giving participants the tools to live healthier. As a corporate citizen and one with a large population of Hispanic employees and customers, we are excited to once again bring the magic of Latino culture to life in our stores through celebrations that shine a spotlight on style, culinary and cultural traditions,” said Corliss Fong, Macy’s VP diversity strategies.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, Macy’s will host special in-store events at select stores across the nation including locations in Miami; Denver; Santa Ana, CA; Chicago; San Francisco; Wheaton, MD; San Antonio; Houston; Los Angeles, and New York City. Speakers will include Barbara Trujillo Gomez, Lilly Mucarsel, Evelina Solis and Luz Maria Briseno. Each moderator will create a dialogue with participants around the importance of empowering oneself to succeed via positive thinking, fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Macy's reported.

Customers who attend the Encanto Latino events will also receive a one-day 15% off pass and a Macy’s Encanto Latino apron gift with a purchase of $50 or more (while supplies last).
