Limited Brands July sales fall

COLUMBUS, Ohio Limited Brands Inc. reported comparable-store sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 4, decreased 3% compared to the four weeks ended Aug. 5, 2006. The company reported net sales of $644.5 million for the four weeks ended Aug. 4, compared to sales of $656.6 million for the four weeks ended July 29, 2006.

The company reported a comparable-store sales increase of 2% for the thirteen weeks ended Aug. 4. Net sales were $2.62 billion compared to net sales of $2.45 billion last year.

The company reported a comparable-store sales increase of 3% for the 26 weeks ended Aug. 4. Net sales were $4.9 billion compared to net sales of $4.5 billion last year.
