Jo-Ann Stores 2Q comps up 4.4%

HUDSON, Ohio Jo-Ann Stores reported that net sales for the second quarter ended July 31 increased 4.7% to $439.3 million compared with $419.4 million for the same period last year. Same-store sales increased 4.4% versus a same-store sales increase of 1.8% for the second quarter last year.

Net sales for the six-month period ended July 31 increased 4.6% to $919.6 million versus $879.4 million in the prior year. Same-store sales increased 4.2% for the six-month period compared with a 1.4% increase for the same period last year.
