Jo-Ann gets crafty with new TV show
Looking to capitalize on the crafting craze, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores is partnering with the Craft Retail Group to launch TV programming dedicated specifically to crafting.
The “TV shopping experience” with daily featured shows is scheduled to launch Dec. 29.
“This partnership with Create and Craft provides an incredible opportunity to deliver exclusive product, projects and promotions to crafters and makers across the United States,” said Riddi Kline, executive vice president of marketing and merchandising at Jo-Ann. “Our daily programming will feature products and projects for makers of all skill levels, bringing the newest trends in the fabric and craft industry directly to the comfort of her own home.”
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores will host “Let's Make Something!” – a daily, hour-long broadcast at 3 p.m. ET, during which audiences will receive exclusive offers on their favorite fabric and craft brands as well as product and technique demonstrations.
The featured programming will be available 24/7 via Create and Craft’s online and app offerings, and promotions will be exclusive to this channel.
Already a successful enterprise in the United Kingdom as the world’s first and only dedicated crafting channel, Create and Craft will begin broadcasting programming six hours a day, seven days a week, into approximately 40 million homes in the United States. Programming can be found on Direct TV channels 85 and 222, along with Dish Network channel 221. The network will broadcast 24 hours at createandcraft.com as well as smart devices and via the app.
“Create and Craft’s partnership with Jo-Ann creates a unique and exciting dimension to the U.S. craft market by delivering creative and inspirational TV shopping shows and online experiences, all focused on world-exclusive crafting brands and products to delight our shoppers,” said Tony Sheridan, Craft Retail Group’s managing director. Jo-Ann operates 850 stores in the United States.
