J.C. Penney Achieves Store Growth Goal

Plano, Texas, J.C. Penney celebrated on Friday the grand openings of six new stores in off-mall locations across the country, marking the completion of the company’s plan to open 50 new stores in 2007.

In addition, the company is celebrating the re-opening of its Gretna, La., store, which had been closed since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
