Davie, Fla., The Hurricane Store has launched an e-commerce boutique for the height of the season that specializes in products specifically chosen for hurricane preparedness. The disaster-relief retailer carries products such as Aquablox water boxes with a five-year shelf life, and HeaterMeals, a military self-heating technology for hot entrees (like lasagna or beef with mashed potatoes) that have up to a two-year shelf life without refrigeration.

The Hurricane Store is the first on-line retailer to offer the SaverKit 72, which is designed to provide the fundamental preparedness needs for 72 hours as specified by the Department of Homeland Security.
