Fourth place smells sweet
Air Wick signed on as the lead sponsor of the Target Chip Ganassi Racing’s number 10 car for the IndyCar Series opener this past weekend, and it proved to be a good business decision, as driver Dario Franchitti finished in fourth place at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. “We’re excited to continue into the 2009 racing season as a proud sponsor of Target Chip Ganassi Racing,” said Donna McConigal, Air Wick’s marketing director. “The IndyCar series gives us a wonderful opportunity to educate consumer about how Air Wick gives them the assurance that their home always smells good and is something they can have pride in.” Franchitti reportedly asked for Air Wick’s Freshmatic Ultra products to be used in the team’s transporters for the remainder of the race season. “Believe me, with over 30 guys working in and out of these trucks every weekend, the automatic spray’s time-released fragrance will be a much welcomed addition for everyone,” Franchitti said.
