Discovery Channel adventure shows inspire new video games

SANTA ANA, Calif. "Man vs. Wild," the popular Discovery Channel show starring survivalist Bear Grylls, is the inspiration for a new video game from Crave Entertainment, the full-service publishing division of FillpointSVG. Crave has entered into an agreement with Discovery Communications to develop and produce a video game based on "Man vs. Wild" as well as "Deadliest Catch," another highly-rated Discovery Channel program, for all current video game platforms beginning in spring 2010.

“The Discovery Channel has captivated millions of viewers by delivering non-stop action and suspense in these unique programs,” stated Betsi Gijanto, EVP Crave Entertainment.  “'Man vs. Wild' and 'Deadliest Catch' capture man’s struggle to survive amidst the perils of nature on land and at sea.  This rich content is a perfect concept for videogames.”

 

Both Discovery Channel titles are slated to appear on PlayStation 3 system, Nintendo Wii system, Nintendo DS system. "Man vs. Wild" will appear on the Xbox 360 system.  Digital downloadable versions will also be available on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
