CVS/pharmacy offers free gift cards promotion for ExtraCare Rewards members

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — In an effort to reward loyal shoppers, CVS/pharmacy has created a new promotion that allows members of its ExtraCare Rewards program to earn multiple free gift cards by shopping for essentials at more than 7,200 locations nationwide.

The new promotion began Oct.16 and will run through Dec. 25. Members of CVS/pharmacy's ExtraCare Rewards program can earn $10 gift cards to Macy's, Gap, Applebee's, Shell Stations, American Express, Barnes & Noble or CVS/pharmacy every week by spending $30 on specially marked items found in the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular.

Customers can find the qualifying products on the front and back pages each week in the CVS/pharmacy circular beginning Oct. 16, which are accessible in-store, online and on Facebook. All qualifying products will be marked as part of the "Earn Free Gift Cards" promotion to make them easily identifiable. Eligible products will range from health and beauty items, to groceries and snacks, household needs, toys and electronics. Products included in the promotion will change each week.

Once ExtraCare customers reach the $30 required purchase threshold in the weeklong period, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in-store for a $10 gift card. If customers prefer to wait to redeem their coupon they have up to 30 days to do so. Shoppers also will have the opportunity to take advantage of the deal every week, with new products in the weekly circular. However, there is no carry-over balance to the next week, since the specially marked products may change. Customers also will be able to earn up to five gift cards per week by making the qualifying $30 purchases (one $10 gift card is earned for each qualifying $30 purchase). There is a limit of five redemptions per week for each ExtraCare member.
