Cub Foods donates $13,000 toward heart health
STILLWATER, Minn. Cub Foods, a division of Supervalu, announced that it raised $13,000 in donations to the American Heart Association. From Feb. 3 through Feb. 9, Cub Foods cashiers sold $1 mini paper red dresses, with the proceeds going toward funding heart health initiatives.
The company said it also supported heart health by providing Go Red bookmarks, encouraging people to take an online heart health check-up. In addition, demostrations on healthy cooking were given throughout various Cub stores.
Cub Foods provided activities for children, including a jump rope event, to help encourage them to exercise at home. Kids were able to register to win a "Dance Dance Revolution" DVD game.
