Costco April sales down 6%

ISSAQUAH, Wash. Costco Wholesale reported net sales of $5.18 billion for the month of April, a decrease of 6% from $5.54 billion in the same four-week period last year. This year's four-week period included 27 days of sales compared to 28 last year, reflecting the timing of Easter. This calendar shift is estimated to have negatively impacted this year's total and comparable sales by approximately 2% to 3%.

Total U.S. comparable sales for the month, excluding gas, decreased 2%.
