Charlotte Russe 1Q Profit Edges Up

San Diego, Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. said Wednesday fiscal first-quarter net income edged up less than 1% as consumers spent less on clothes amid a weakening economic environment.

Profit for the quarter ended Dec. 29 rose to $14 million, up from $13.9 million a year earlier. Revenue rose 14% to $238.2 million from $209.2 million last year.

Meanwhile, same-store sales rose 1.5% during the quarter.
