B&N finds a "Nook" in Staples
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --Staples announced that it will be selling Barnes & Noble's Nook Color tablet e-reader, making it the first office superstore to offer the device. The Nook will be available at Staples stores nationwide and at Staples.com for $249, beginning May 1.
"Staples is excited to bring this amazing product with its enhanced applications to our stores this Spring, which is just in time to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day with a gift of the newest technology," said Mark Mettler, SVP consumer technology at Staples. "We invite Staples customers to experience a live demonstration of the Nook's many features in all our U.S. locations and also enjoy the convenience of free shipping when ordering on Staples.com."
The addition of Nook Staples product offering is in line with the company's enhanced focus on technology. In February, the company announced plans to increase its assortment of new technologies and to provide customers with an educated staff to help them with their tech needs.
While Staples may have beat out other office stores to be the first to sell the Nook, the device is already available at such retailers as Best Buy and Walmart.
